Mausam ke Rang

The weather never ceases to amaze me. When it is sunny in the winters and raining in the hill stations, isn't it the best feeling?!?
Only the rain today made me come back to my writing, jitna thoda-bahut likh leti hu :)
So, thanks to the mast mausam and requests from few of my friends who were waiting for my next poem. And, here it goes:

Mausam ke Rang

Yeh mausam bhi anokhi cheez hai
Kab banta hai, kab bigadta hai
Jane kaise har rang badalta hai

Kahin to hai sunehri dhup, kahin Chhaya hai, kabhi nabh me hota hai baadlon ka dera, toh kabhi hota hai ghanghor andhera

Yeh raat aur din ka chakravyuh bhi kiski samajh me aya hai

Yeh mausam bhi anokhi cheez hai

Par anokhi to main bhi kam nahi
Mausam aur main ek jaise hi to Hain

Main bhi khilti hu, jaise khilti hai dhoop
Aur sab jagmaga jata hai

Jab Main roothti hu, to bas hota hai sannata
Jaise Toofan ke pahle ki khamoshi
Aur koi kuch nahi Kar pata

Jab main barasti hu, to rukne ka naam nahi leti, jaise barsaat

Baarish mein jaise chamakti h bijli, utni hi kadak aur utni hi garjana ke sath

Phir mere hi aansuon ki tarah, jab girti h saawan ki wo pahli boond, mann ko thandak pad jati hai, Dil halka ho jata h

Main aur mausam ek jaise hi toh hain
Kab bigadte hain, kab ban jate hai
Jane kaise yeh rang badal jate hain

Don't forget to leave some comments and let me know how you liked it. Can you relate to it?

Good Food, Good Life

Chennai Food and Truck Festival 2018

The day I had planned for a long time finally arrived yesterday.
And it was absolutely awesome!!

Food is best enjoyed with friends, and I went with my Foodie Gang - Mehak, Krishnapriya and Aakansha. The Chennai sun was a little merciful on us. It was a bright and cheery. The place was a delight for any food lover.

We had reached early, and we decided to start our food journey with.....any guesses???
With desserts <3<3<3  People like us with sweet tooth always starts backwards :))

The first round was Banoffe and Nutella waffles. They were great, melting in the mouth kind. Nutella waffles were really amazing. Nutella never lets you down. We were eyeing so many stalls, with our mouths watering and stomachs growling. Maybe it was just me, but whatever!!

We planned to purchase food coupons for the rest of the stalls, with our meal course all planned in our minds. The next stop was the all time fave Chaat Stall. We gorged on the Bhelpuri Sev Chaat (Kolkata style) - the best Chennai can provide. This was accompanied by my Aloo must have - Spring Potatoes on a skewer with mayo and chilli sauce. We had a little sparring match to see who gets the most of it. Next we headed for Veg Pasta, creamy white sauce. Although it was not at par, but it was really filling. After that we went excitedly to the gola shop, selling golas in myriad of colours. I quenched my thirst with my go-to flavour Kaala Khatta with jaljeera. And it was heavenly, although we raced against the sun to have our chuski before it melts away. We failed but it was still the best drink to cheer on. We took a short break. We sat in the shade talking, munching, taking unlimited number of photos & selfies,  singing songs in our melodious voice.

Gaining our energy back, we continued. For the Grand Finale, we had to finish with a delicious dessert. So it was a handsome guy from the crepe and pancakes stall who caught our eyes. :P
Don't worry! I am talking about the yum food which he was serving. The Strawberry and Nutella Crepes were to die for. We had three portions and that says a lot.

So with our bellies full and few more pictures later, we decided to call it a day.And what an amazing day it was!!! The taste is still there in my mouth. Just kidding people :P

Goodbye until next time!
And here is a Food for Thought :))

Homecoming

Hello everyone

Wishing you all a Happy New Year. Got occupied with some other things coz it was that time of the year :))
But I am back on the wagon now after a long time.

So let's talk about home.
Home is the one word which brings happiness to everyone's face. We may be anywhere in the world, but the simple idea of coming home brings so many memories and engulfs us in a feeling of warmth like a cozy blanket on a winter's day!!!

Don't you agree that home is the best place you can be, surrounded by the best people. Let the world say whatever they want, hometown is the best place in the world - It is the place where we have grown up, so many (mis)adventures during childhood, the place where we made so many friends, had our first crushes, with our cool hangouts and joints, the familiar roads and lanes.
Home is where a large part of our heart is and always will be!!!

Without further ado, presenting you few lines on HOME.

A PLACE CALLED HOME

It is said that - home is where the heart is
But what is home

A place where you can be yourself
No inhibitions, no regrets

A place where you can be just you
Knowing no one will judge you
Or misinterpret your words
Or make opinions about your actions

But don't think that at home
You can get away
From your parents' reactions

That is the best part
Getting a constructive criticism
They will shower you with love and affection
You will be the star at your place
The centre of attention

Your life episodes may flop or be a hit
The great Indian family are the audience
Who will always stick

They simply believe in you
Have faith in you
They are your guides, your mentors
Whether you want it or not
They are your biggest fans
Your ardent followers

Pushing you always, to do more
To make a place for yourself
Another place, where you can be yourself
Not just at home!

I hope you all could relate to it. I feel that this is what home is all about. Home is for the people, by the people, of the people :p
Our parents and family always wishing us well, wanting us to do well.

So please don't forget to leave your comments so that I get to know whether you feel the same way as me or not.

Wedding jitters

'Tis the wedding season. With so many marriages happening around the corner, I had the pleasure of attending my fave person's shaadi!!
This short one is dedicated to her and all the beautiful brides to be.

Happily Married

The big day has finally arrived
For which you have been waiting for so long
You must be feeling happy jitters
Even though you are busy with all the marriage rituals
Surrounded by the best people who you want to be in your life
But most importantly to be with the one who can call you his wife
With the blessings of one and all,
This is the moment when life of two people change.
For better or best, you will be the one to manage
And this is how life of happily married begins:))

Keep liking and commenting and I will keep it coming too!!!

Faith revisited

Hello all

What is the one thing in life that keeps us moving, getting up each day, doing what we do, going to sleep again knowing that tomorrow will be another day?
Do we believe that something better is around the corner? Do we hope for something more? Do we desire for someone to share the simple joys and pleasures?
Isn't it just faith that one day will come when we will achieve all these things and more and our happiness will be manifold?

So here is a short poem:

Faith and I

What is faith, I ask myself
Is it when you believe in the unbelievable
Is it when you simply believe
Or is it when you don't believe at all
Coz faith can be in anything or in nothing
Faith can be in something or in everything

Faith is a Gusty wind
even though it cannot be seen
It is so intense
Faith is an oceans' wave
Ever Continuous with no beginning
And no end
Faith is within us
It gives us strength

Have faith in you, Believe in you
Be truthful to yourself
That's the best version of you
The world can get.

Do share your thoughts and how you like my writing and stay tuned for more:))

Friends for life

Hello lovely peeps!

Hope you liked my writing. Thanks for praising my first attempt to write a poem and showering your love.

I am here with yet another one, though this time in Hindi. This is straight from my heart for the special people in my life who are my family away from my family, ever dependable and supportive and my childhood & college buddies. To all my friends, this one is for you!!!

Dosti

Naye logon se Milne ke Mauke toh Roz hote hain
Zindagi me to har kisi ke Dost hote Hain
Kuch khaas hi reh jaate Hain yaadon me magar
Aur Chand aise hote Hain joh Hamesha saath hote hain

Jaise pedd aur chaaya, Insaan aur saaya
Kuch Rishte atoot hote hain
Kuch Dost sada sang hote hain
Zindagi mein to har kisi ke Dost hote Hain

Dosti ka Rishta Hai hi kuch Nirala
Dost sang Berang pal bhi Navrang hote hain
Apni Harkaton se Jo bhula de apke saare Gamm
Woh nahi jante ki Adhon ki Wajah bhi wahi hote hain

Dost Jud jate Hain aise hi
Bewajah hi, bin kisi Matlab
Akaran hi, bina kisi Maksad
Yaad aate Hain wo Aksar
Itnaa ki Mann kehta Hai bas Kar
Bas Bhula dete Hain hum unhe Has kar

Naye logon se Milne ke Mauke toh Roz hote hain
Zindagi me to har kisi ke Dost hote Hain
Kuch khaas hi reh jaate Hain yaadon me magar
Aur Chand aise hote Hain joh Hamesha saath hote hain

I realised only later that almost half of my followers do not understand Hindi. Do not be disheartened.
For those who don't, here's the translation.
For those who do, this is bonus material !!!
Forgive me if some sentiments are lost in transition :))

Friendship

We get ample opportunities to meet new friends
In life everyone has friends
But only a few special ones stay in our memory
Few others stay with us (through thick and thin)

Like a tree and the shade it gives, like a man and his shadow
Some relations are unbreakable
Some friends stay together forever
Though in life everybody has friends

The bond of friendship is unusual
It makes even the dull moments colourful
With friends you forget your pain
Though they don't realise, half of it is due to them

We become friends just like that
Without any reason, without any agenda
Without any explanation, without any propaganda
We remember them frequently
Sometimes so much, so vehemently
That the heart says just stop
We smile remembering them and just forget

We get ample opportunities to meet new friends
In life everyone has friends
But only a few special ones stay in our memory
Few others stay with us (through thick and thin)

Looking forward to your lovely comments.
Keep coming back for more :* :*

To new beginnings! To the song called life!!

Hey guys

There must have been one point in time where you all would have thought about life, yeh zindagi Kya cheez Hai, kisne banayi Hai and like my friend keeps on asking me ki hum is zindagi mein kyun aye hain?!!?

I don't have answer to all these questions. Who has?? We live in an uncertain world which is unfathomable and with so many things unknown to us. Pondering over these questions I came up with my interpretation of what life is. This is an original:

A Beautiful Song called Life

Life is a song!
Its a bitter-sweet song!!
Full of melodies and melancholies,
Miracles and miseries,
With its ups and downs,
Highs and lows,
Just like the climbs and falls of a song's notes

Life is a song!
Its a bitter-sweet song!!
Sometimes tough, other times tender
With the triumphs and the troubles
Like any song has its bass and its trebles

Life is a song!
Be it a bitter-sweet one!!
With the years, the days, the minutes and the seconds
its lyrics,
People who live it,
thriving and thrashing,
like the guitar strings

Life is a beautiful song!
Only God knows who is the composer
If you ask me anything about it,
I will give you just one answer
I don't want this song to end ever!!
I don't want this song to end ever!!
